Boucle d'Or Afghan KAL : square 20

Here are the directions to square 20 of the Boucle D'Or Afghan. For more information about this project follow this link.

As the patterns for this square aren't the same whether you'll be knitting the doll or baby afghan or the adult one, mind you follow the right pattern directions for the size you've chosen.


the doll and baby size : 

SAM 2600

Cast on 20 (30) sts with color B.
Work 3 (3) ridges  


only for the baby size :

Row 1 (RS) - k 3, p14(24), k 3

Row 2 (WS) - k 20(30)

 Repeat these 2 rows 3 times
 

for both sizes (RS) : k 3, p14(24), k 3

 

 foundation row (WS) : k 9(14), knit 2 sts together (k2tog) k9(14) -- 19 (29) sts.

 

Pattern :

Row 1 (RS) :  k3, p 1(6), work 11 sts chart C, p 1(6), k3 
Row 2 (WS) : k4(9), work 11 sts chart C, k 4(9)
Repeat these 2 rows until 15 rows of Chart C have been worked once

 

next row (WS) : k 4(9), make one stitch (M1), k4(9) -- 20 (30) sts.  

 

only for the baby size :

Row 1- k 3, p24, k 3
Row 2- k 30

Repeat these 2 rows (4 times)

 

Next row: work 2 (2) ridges
Cast off

 foundation row (WS) :

k22, make one stitch (M1), k1, p2, k6, p1, M1, k28  -- 62 sts

Pattern : 

 

Row 1 (RS) :  k4, p 18, work 17 sts chart A, p 19, k4
Row 2 (WS) : k23, work 17 sts chart A, k22
Repeat these 2 rows until 28 rows of Chart A have been worked twice and rows 1-14 of Chart A once

 

next row (RS) :  k20, knit 2 sts together (k2tog), k18, k2tog, k20   -- 60 sts. 

 

Next row: work 3 ridges
Cast off
