Boucle d'Or Afghan KAL : square 17

Here are the directions to square 17 of the Boucle D'Or Afghan. For more information about this project follow this link.

The pattern is made with cables.

SAM 5889 

 

Cast on 20 (30, 60) sts with color A.
Work 2 (2,3) ridges   

 

next row (RS) : k2030(60)


foundation row (WS) :

doll size : k4, make one stitch (M1), k1, p1, make one stitch purl (M1P), p1, k6, p1, M1P, p1, M1, k5 -- 24 sts.

baby size :  k9, make one stitch (M1), k1, p1, make one stitch purl (M1P), p1, k6, p1, M1P, p1, M1, k10 -- 34 sts.

adult size :  k23, make one stitch purl (M1P), p3, k1, make one stitch (M1), k2, [M1P,p1] twice, k1, M1, k2, M1P, p3, k23 -- 66 sts.

 

begin charts A and B:

row 1 (RS): 

 doll size : k3, p3, work 12 sts Chart A, p3, k3  
baby size :  k3, p8, work 12 sts Chart A, p8, k3  
adult size :  k4, p17, work 24 sts Chart B, p17, k4 

 

row 2 (WS):

doll size : k6, work 12 sts Chart A, k6 
baby size : k11, work 12 sts Chart A, k11 
adult size : k21, work 24 sts Chart B, k21

 

Continue in pattern until

doll size : 1-12 rows of Chart A have been worked once and 1-8 of Chart A have been worked once again   

baby size : 1-12 rows of Chart A have been worked twice and 1-10 of Chart A have been worked once again

adult size : 1-16 rows of Chart B have been worked 4 times and 1-8 of Chart B have been worked once again  

 

Next row (RS) 

doll size : k4, knit 2 sts together (k2tog),k1, k2tog, k6, k2tog, k1, k2tog, k4 -- 20 sts. 

baby size :   k9, knit 2 sts together (k2tog),k1, k2tog, k6, k2tog, k1, k2tog, k9 -- 30 sts. 

adult size :  k23, knit 2 sts together (k2tog) twice, k2, k2tog, k4, k2tog, k2, k2tog twice, k23 -- 60 sts.

 

Next row (WS): k2030(60)

 

Next row : work 1 (1,2) ridges

Cast off
