Boucle d'Or Afghan KAL : square 18

Here are the directions to square 18 of the Boucle D'Or Afghan. For more information about this project follow this link.

 As the patterns for this square aren't the same whether you'll be knitting the doll or baby afghan or the adult one, mind you follow the right pattern directions for the size you've chosen.
First we'll see the directions for the single circle for the doll and baby size afghan and then the directions for the five circles pattern for the adult size afghan.

 

the doll and baby size : 

SAM 2605

Cast on 20 (30) sts with color B.
Work 3 (3) ridges    

   

Row 1 (RS) - k9(14), knit next 2 stitches together (k2tog), k9(14) -- 19(29) sts

Row 2 (WS) - k 3, p13(23), k 3

 

only for the baby size :

Row 3 (RS) - k 19(29)

Row 4 (WS) - k 3, p13(23), k 3

Repeat these 2 rows 3 times
   

for both sizes, begin pattern :

Row 1 (RS) : k 5(10), place a marker (pm), work 9 sts chart C, pm, k5(10)

Row 2 (WS) : k3, p 2(7),   work 9 sts chart C,    p 2(7), k3
Repeat these 2 rows until 16 rows of Chart C have been worked once. 

 

only for the baby size :

Row 1 (RS) - k 19(29)

Row 2 (WS) - k3, p13(23), k3 

Repeat these 2 rows 3 times

 

for both sizes,

Row 1 (RS) - k 9(14), make one stitch knit, k10(15) -- 20(30) sts

 Row 2 (WS) - k3, p14(24), k3


Next row: work 2 (2) ridges
Cast off

 

the adult size :

SAM 5947

Cast on 60 sts with color B.
Work 4 ridges  

 

 Row 1 (RS) - k29,  knit next 2 stitches together (k2tog), k29 -- 59 sts

Row 2, 4, 6 (WS) - k4, p51, k4

Row 3, 5 (RS) - k59 

 

The two first circles  : 

Row 1 (RS) : k10, place marker (pm), work 9 sts chart C, pm, k21, pm, work 9 sts chart C, pm, k10       

Row 2 (WS) :  k4, p6, work 9 sts chart C, p21, work 9 sts chart C, p6, k4
Repeat these 2 rows until 16 rows of Chart C have been worked once.

 

After ending the two circles :

Row 1 (RS) - k59

Row 2 (WS) - k4, p51, k4

Repeat these 2 rows 3 times


The center circle  :

Row 1 (RS) : k25, pm, work 9 sts chart C, pm, k25

Row 2 (WS) : k4, p21, work 9 sts chart C, p21 , k4
Repeat these 2 rows until 16 rows of Chart C have been worked once. 

 

After ending the center circle :

Row 1 (RS) - k59

Row 2 (WS) - k4, p51, k4

Repeat these 2 rows 3 times

   

 The two last circles :

Row 1 (RS) : k10, pm, work 9 sts chart C, pm, k21, pm, work 9 sts chart C, pm, k10       

Row 2 (WS) :  k4, p6, work 9 sts chart C, p21, work 9 sts chart C, p6, k4
Repeat these 2 rows until 16 rows of Chart C have been worked once. 

 

After ending all circles :

Row 1 (RS) - k59

Row 2 (WS) - k4, p51, k4

Repeat these 2 rows 3 times


next row (RS) : k29, make one stitch knit, k30  -- 60 sts.  

 

 

Next row: work 3 ridges
Cast off
