Boucle d'Or Afghan KAL : the border

Here are the directions to the border of the Boucle D'Or Afghan. For more information about this project follow this link.

The border can be done in two ways.
Either you can knit four borders for the four sides, and then assemble them to each side of the afghan, or you can knit the whole border in one piece, and make the angles using short rows.

 

Instructions:

CO 7sts, start chart B with row 3, then carry on repeating the whole chart, from rows 1 to 4.
Measure the border with the side of the afghan as you go, and work the angles on short rows once you've reached the right length.

sl next st kniwise on right needle, K2, pass the slipped stitch back over these two stitches.

 

Chart B :

Row 1: Slip one stitch knitwise, K1, slip next stitch knitwise, K2, pick slipped stitch from right neele and pass over the two knit stitches, P1, K1 (see first video)
Row 2: Sl 1 st knitwise, K1, P1, YO, P1, K2 (see second video)
Row 3: Sl 1 st knitwise, P1, K3, P1, K1
Row 4: Sl 1 st knitwise, K1, P3, K2.

How to work the corners for the border:

 

 

Row 1: work first 5 sts of row 1 of chart B, sl 1, pass yarn to front of work. Leaving 1 st on lefthand needle, turn to WS.
Row 2: sl 1, pass yarn to front of work, the yarn has been wrapped around the st once. Then work last 4 sts of row 2 of chart B.
Row 3: work 3 first sts of row 3 of chart B, sl 1, wrap yarn around next st and keep on left hand needle. Leaving 4 sts on lefthand needle, turn to WS.
Row 4: work the last 3 sts of row 4 of chart B.
Row 5: work 2 first sts of row 1 of chart B, wrap yarn around next st and keep on left hand needle. Leaving 5 sts on lefthand needle, turn to WS.
Row 6: work last 2 sts of row 2 of chart B.
Row 7: work first 2 sts of row 3 of chart B, picking up the yarn around the next st, K2tog with the 3rd st, repeat for the 4th st. wrap yarn around 5th st and keep on lefthand needle. Leaving 3 sts on lefthand needle, turn to WS.
Row 8: work last 4 st of row 4.
Row 9: work 5 first st of chart B, pick up the yarn that has been wrapped around the last st of row 7, and knit together with the stitch it was wrapped around, pick up the slipped st, and pass over the last two knit sts, pick up yarn around the the next st (from row 1) and p2tog with the st, k1.
Row 10: work row 2 of chart B.
